What's my Hairtype?

Since I have started taking care of my hair better I have noticed that my curls have more definition and are growing faster. But my question is, what's my hairtype. I always thought i was a 4c but I'm not really sure. My hair is supper thick and my new growth tends to be hard to comb through.

I recently took out my sew-in and my hair has grown a lot. So last week i decided to take pictures to show you gals and see if you can help. (And it seems like this has also been my first post in like a year so I am supper sorry about that!!! ::crying::)

Worst Hair Experience Thus Far!!!! :(

Ok so today really sucks especially for my hair. Well Friday is my longest day this semester and Thank you God that my English class was canceled. So our lab for bio today was to walk 10 minutes to this nature park thing on campus. It was scorching hot and I'm a person who sweats a little more than I wished, but I'm surprised that I didn't sweat as much as I thought I would.

So I have tracks in and haven't been able to wash my hair for almost a month. My hair is used to being washed every week so I guess that's how come its getting dirty so fast. Like I said Florida weather is so HOT!!!!! After an hour or so after being out in the sun we are finally in the class room. I take some napkins on the table to wipe my face dry and to my surprise the paper is ALL BROWN from the dirt the sweated out of my hair onto my face. EEEEEWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!! It was so NE-A-STYYYYYY!!! My friend thought it might have been my gel so I let her think that but I haven't used my brown gel in such a long time because I'm using Jam to gel my edges since its doesn't make it all stiff and I can comb it out. But I did use hair spray yesterday so I thought that could be the dark stuff but I highly doubt it. It has to be the nasty dirt in my hair. I can't wait to go back home and take these out so I can wash my hair!!!!!

Oh and I feel so dirty right now but I can't go home and take a shower because I have chemistry at 2:30!!! UGH!!!!! We have final exams next week so that's how come I can't take them out now but I really can't wait to wash my hair and deep condition.

Breakage!! T_T

Oh My Goodness!!! I don't know what is up with my hair right now!!! I started moisturizing my hair and sealing it tonight before I went to bed and was massaging and scalp grease in and then I started wrapping my hair. For some odd reason i had so much hair just breaking. It was not shedding. My hair was actually breaking and these were some long strands. I really don't know why my hair is breaking like this. My hair must be weak from something but I don't know what. I did a protein deep conditioner on Saturday for 15 minutes and moisturized and sealed my hair. I didn't do them excessively but something is severely wrong and I need to find out, but I don't know how??? When I wash my hair this Saturday I will not use any heat except for when I'm applying the Protein Deep Conditioner. I will let my hair air dry and then all next week I'll bun it. Hopefully this puts the breakage at bay. If i stays in a bun all week then i don't have to comb through my hair and it will be stronger. I'll moisturize my scalp and hair every other day and maybe that'll help. I really hope it helps. Please give me some advice on what else I can do. I'm so afraid that I'm going to lose all the progress I made and that my hair will go back to it's unmanageable ways again.

Hair Please Don't Do That!!! I Am Begging You With All My Heart!!!!!!!!!!!!

Diva Smooth Ingredients

Hey bloggers!!!!
Okay, i was surfing the web and came across this website that sells an alternative to chemically straightening your hair. Well I thought it was to good to be true so I looked around a little and found a forum that had a thread about it. Well the girls were saying how if the site won't give the list of ingredients then it is not a good product. Well I found a list on the site, but it's really just a list of natural ingredients. I haven't found anything about what is put into the product that makes the hair straighter. I'm still a little skeptical about Diva Smooth because of that, so that is why I don't think I want to buy; at least not until I can find a few people who have used this kit and had GREAT results with it because I do not want my hair to start falling out or anything. So instead I think I will buy a few of the ingredients and mix them up myself. I'll probably use the mix as a pre-poo or combine them with my conditioners and use it as a deep conditioning treatment. I know it won't make my hair straight, and that's not my intention, but it will benefit my hair in some type of way because all the ingredients are natural.

So here is the exact list of ingredients found on the site including the pictures.

Aloe Vera - Organic - Used medicinally for over 3,000 years. A rich emollient known to promote healing

Grapeseed Oil- Organic - Grapeseed oil is rich in flavonoids, phytochemicals that have antioxidant properties some consider even greater than vitamin C and vitamin E.

Glycerin Extract
- Glycerin is a humectant, drawing moisture to hair, allowing it to remain hydrated and soft.

Honey - Adds shine and moisture to hair and helps prevent breakage.

Olive oil - Organic - Obtained from ripe olives grown around the Mediterranean. Contains protein, minerals and vitamins.

Palm Oil - Organic - Palm oil gives hair its natural strength and radiance.

Jojoba Oil - Organic - The molecular structure of jojoba is very similar to the natural oil that is produced by the sebaceous glands in the scalp known as sebum. It is a well-known fact that sebum is required in maintaining healthy supple hair. Hair that has a good moisture basis tends to be more resistant to daily damage, tangles, dryness and split ends. Jojoba oil comes from the jojoba plant.

Lemon Juice - Antibacterial, astringent, promotes new cell generation, regulates sebum production.

Lemon Extract
- Antibacterial, astringent, promotes new cell generation, regulates sebum production.

Molasses
- Helps restore damaged hair.

Propreitary
blend of essential oils
- trade secret blend of essential oils.

Peppermint Essential Oil Blend - Great for stimulating the scalp.

Rose Petals extract - promotes regeneration of skin cells. Pure, fresh scent (no synthetic fragrances)

Rosemary Extract - A very effective natural preservative that is high in antioxidants

Shea Butter - Used in Africa for centuries, this nutrient rich butter is high in fatty acids. It contains unique properties that aid in the relief of dry scalp and in restoring luster to hair.

Sucrose - Sugar extracted from sugar cane and sugar beets.

Tea Tree Essential Oil - Grown in the islands of the south Pacific and Australia, Tea Tee Oil helps unblock clogged hair follicles and moisturize the hair.

Vegetable Gum Virgin Coconut Oil - Organic - Reduces the protein loss for both undamaged and damaged hair. Coconut oil, being a triglyceride of lauric acid (principal fatty acid), has a high affinity for hair proteins and, because of its low molecular weight and straight linear chain, is able to penetrate inside the hair shaft.

Vitamin E improves circulation to the scalp. It improves health and growth of hair.

Vinegar - Lauded as a beauty powerhouse. It is derived from apple cider and has traditionally been used to make hair silky and lustrous.

Zea Mays Starch - aka Cornstarch - helps lift dirt, excessive oil and grease from hair. Helps maintain oil balance.

Update- Braids

Hey beauties!!!

Sorry for not giving an update on my hair lately. Well right now I have braids in. I got them done on Saturday January 3, 2009, and I really like them. Well its only been 2 weeks and the parts are already disappearing, which is making me really happy because that means my hair is growing. Hopefully by the time I take these out next month, my hair grew almost 2 inches because right now I'm 11 weeks and 4 days post relaxer and next month with make it about 4 months without a relaxer. I remember reading that hair grows about 1/2 an inch every month.

I'm writing this entry on my phone so I will add pictures of my hair later.
