Yarn Twists Update

Hey beauties!

Today I am 15 weeks and 3 days post relaxer (my ticker is saying that I am 3 months 2 weeks and 4 days post but it all means the same, just in different measurements). I have been wearing my Yarn Twists for the past 3 weeks. I am really loving them. This is my first time doing my own yarn twist -- the first time I ever did them was in my mother's hair -- and might I say they came out very nice. I am very picky about how my hair needs to come out so of course they had to look decent. I am still getting compliments about my twist, some people didn't even know it was yarn and other's have never seen yarn used to make twists instead of braids.

All I have been doing is daily spritzing my scalp with Sta-Sof-Fro and at least once a week applying my grease/oil mixture after moisturizing. I have also been taking my One-A-Day Vitamins and MSM supplement. I feel like the MSM is really aiding the growth process of my hair, but we will have to just see once I get my relaxer is approximately 5 weeks. OOOOoooo I CAN'T WAIT!!!! My new growth feels oh so curly and hydrated! I can't seem to keep my hands out of my hair! LOL, sounds funny since most of my hair is actually put away.

School has been so hectic so I have yet to wash my hair. It doesn't itch or smell bad thanks to the help of Sta-Sof-Fro. Actually my praise team director complimented me by saying that I smelled good. I didn't have any body lotion or spray on so it had to be my hair. And yarn is a cloth material so it will hold on to the scent of whatever is put into my hair. Good thing I love the smell of Sta-Sof-Fro!!!

March Update

Hey Beauties!!!

It's been a while since I posted an entry. The past 2 weeks my hair has bun in rope twist that I did with yarn. I guess you can call them yarn twist. But all I have been doing was spraying my scalp with Sta-Sof-Fro and last night I applied an oil/grease mixture. I'll have a regimen up soon that will say all the products I am using and what the mixture is composed of. I do have a bit of build up but I don't want to wash my hair yet because I want the braids to last as long as they can. But it isn't itching so I actually have no need to wash yet.

At the moment I am absolutely loving both my One-A-Day Women's and MSM supplements. My hair is growing very well. I can't wait till its time to take these twist out and see how long my hair is. I finally decided that I will just relax my hair in May instead of trying to stretch. My hair tends to break a lot and I want to get it back to its previous state and I feel like I can only do that successfully if it is relaxed.

Sta-So-SOFT!!!!!

Hey Ladies!!!!

Earlier this week I bought a new product, and may I say I am really liking it. I went to walmart to by some Luster's S-curl but either they were out or not selling it anymore. So instead I had to find a new daily moisturizing spray. I looked at the ingredients to find any product with ingredients close to S-curl and came across Softsheen-Carson Sta-Sof-Fro. The first two ingredients are Water and Glycerin just like S-curl so that was why I chose this. After washing and air drying my hair I sprayed some in, detangled, and then put in some chunky braids. It is three days later and my hair is still soft (even after not sleeping with my satin cap which I know I shouldn't be doing, but since I'm home for spring break I don't have all my hair products and my satin cap is hiding somewhere in my suitcase.)

I am loving how soft my hair is, and the smell is a plus. It has such a clean smell but at the same time has the smell of alcohol but I didn't see any listed in the ingredients. I'll have to research them to see if any of the ingredients are detremental to my hair journey.

Update
Didn't do a true length check but just stretch out some of my hair and it has grown a lot. I love it. I don't want to do an actual length check because if I don't pay attention to how long my hair is I will think it's much shorter than it actually is so that will motivate me to not neglect it. Loving my hair right now and can't wait to see what it will look like once I change my products back to what I was originally using.

PS: Did you get my play on words? "Sta-Sof-Fro" ... "Sta-So-Soft" because my hair got so soft.... HEHE!
